You can save the life of a dog or cat by choosing to adopt. In 2022, around 398,000 cats and dogs were killed in Texas shelters, simply because they didn’t have a place to call home.
When you adopt from Etosha, or one of the many shelters and rescue groups around the country, you’re not only adding a loyal and loving companion to your family, you’re helping to save lives.
There are ample opportunities to provide direct care to animals in our shelter, including cleaning cages and enclosures, feeding, watering, bathing, restocking supplies, washing dishes, walking dogs or socializing animals.
Opportunities to learn or apply animal health or behavioral skills and participate in transports. Many other Animal Rescue Team actions also may arise.
In the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Ike, Etosha took in a whopping 236 dogs from Houston, Galveston and New Orleans.
Our staff and volunteers answer more than 1,000 calls or emails every year from people throughout the state looking for help with a variety of pet-related problems.
Etosha’s ultimate goal is to relieve the suffering of animals in general, whenever possible, through intervention and education.
You’re making a difference for homeless dogs and cats by providing the access to medical and emotional support they need, no matter when or for how long they need it.
Ensuring lifesaving medical treatment to providing nutritious meals, warm beds and the chance to find a permanent loving home. Etosha Rescue will make certain that homeless pets are never forgotten.
