OTHER THINGS
There are ample opportunities to provide direct care to animals in our shelter, including cleaning cages and enclosures, feeding, watering, bathing, restocking supplies, washing dishes, walking dogs or socializing animals.
Opportunities to learn or apply animal health or behavioral skills and participate in transports and other Animal Rescue Team actions also may arise.
In the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Ike, Etosha took in a whopping 236 dogs from Houston, Galveston and New Orleans.
Our staff and volunteers answer more than 1,000 calls or emails every year from people throughout the state looking for help with a variety of pet-related problems.
Etosha’s ultimate goal is to relieve the suffering of animals in general, whenever possible, through intervention and education.
You’re making a difference for homeless dogs and cats by providing the access to medical and emotional support they need, no matter when or for how long they need it.
From ensuring lifesaving medical treatment to providing nutritious meals, warm beds and the chance to find a permanent loving home, Etosha Rescue will make certain that homeless pets are never forgotten.

We Believe, it still comes down to small, simple acts of kindness and that every animal deserves a chance.
Our Team
Something To Bark About
Adopt instead of buy.
If you’re considering adding a new pet to the family, we urge you to adopt instead of buying a pet from an online breeder or pet store.
Canines leading charge for finding victims of Maui wildfire nightmare
As Maui grapples with the devastation of the wildfires, man’s best friend is leading the charge to recover the hundreds of victims.

A puppy mill is a factory for dogs. Even though more and more people are taking a stand against them.
FIND YOUR BEST
FRIEND
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find the best homes available for our dogs and cats.
Adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and free of disease (including heartworms) prior to adoption.
Dogs receive basic obedience training as well as socialization through the Etosha Foster Care Program.
We promote state-wide educational events which focus on the importance of spaying or neutering, humane treatment for all animals, and workshops to teach children the basics of responsible pet ownership.
Etosha is dedicated to maintaining a high success rate (about ninety-five percent) for placing companion animals in forever homes.
We achieve this by carefully screening prospective adopters and knowing which dogs or cats are most likely to be a good match for them.
When we work with businesses , whether it is a distributor or supplier , Corporate Social Responsibility is often a topic of high priority. Since the animal health industry is inherently responsible for the care and protection of animals, it’s a rich field of opportunities for impactful cause marketing.
If the welfare of animals is already a primary goal of your business the next step is making a conscious and authentic effort to further that purpose. We help our partners take that step with our collaborative approach to strategizing and growing brands.
Etosha Rescue has been running the largest no-kill sanctuary in Texas for more than 25 years, working with other shelters around Texas and passionate people like you to ensure homeless pets receive lifesaving care and protection — and the future they deserve.
We rely on your generosity to help us save lives. All monetary donations go directly towards the care of the animals in our program.
WHAT OUR
CLIENTS SAY
We love our rescues and the people who adopt them. See what some of them have to say about us! Our work is our passion and we take it very seriously.
We are proud and honored to receive the positive feedback.
Bonney loves what she does and cares a lot about these dogs. She won’t just let anyone walk off with a dog, especially in these times when the return rate of dogs to shelters is so high. you just might fall in love with a dog you totally didn’t even know was there. I went in looking for one dog and left with another dog that we are so so happy with. She always got back to me pretty quickly. The communication was clear and she was patient with us.

Bonnie is a wonderfull & loving person.she loves her rescues .people complain about her being to strick about letting her animals go.it god she is this way its the best interest of all the furry babies they have suffered enough. great work miss Bonnie. they don’t need to go to another horrible place.
Gloria Martinez
This is a wonderful caring lady and she needs help. She needs a truck or van no matter what age as long as running, and some daily help. I’m going to help as soon as I can. Anybody?

What I love about this rescue is that it is all about the dogs. Bonnie runs the place and it is very evident that the dogs are well cared for and thought about. Each dog has a large pen to run around and get exercise. They swap out the dogs to bring inside into the air conditioning so they don’t get too hot. The dogs all are handled and are very sweet.Bonnie personally ensures that if you are wanting to adopt one that they will have the best Furever home. If she doesn’t believe you are going to be the best fit for the rest of the dogs life then she won’t place the dog with you.
